Chichen Itzá is one of the main archaeological sites in the Yucatan peninsula. It’s recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the modern World and declared by UNESCO in 1998 as a World Heritage Site. The Kukulcán pyramid rises with geometric precision in the middle of an esplanade that became the political, religious and cultural center of the Mayan empire. Chichén Itzá means ""mouth of the well of the Itza"", alluding to the cenote located north of the pyramid that was considered a sacred enclave, as well as a source of essential fresh water for that city of temples and wise astronomers. The adventure begins at the Chichen Itzá ruins with a certified guided tour, where you will visit every corner of this ancient Mayan empire. Then you’ll enter the Mayan jungle to swim in two of the most beautiful cenotes in Yucatan. You will end the day touring the streets of the magical town of Valladolid, tasting its food and discovering its wide culture.
